4-Day Intensive Training & Racing
SMSC's most complete training program: four consecutive days of coaching and fleet racing, built around your crew's goals, whether you're new to multihulls or cross-training from a competitive monohull fleet.
What It Is
The 4-Day Intensive is SMSC's most complete program: four days of coached training and fleet racing on performance multihulls. Every day pairs on-the-water coaching with racing, and the coaching builds day by day, so each session picks up where the last one left off.
Who It's For
Sailors new to multihulls who want a complete introduction, and competitive monohull crews, J/70 teams especially, looking to cross-train on a faster boat. Coaching is matched to your crew's starting point.
What You'll Work On
Day one focuses on the platform itself: weight placement, balance, and basic maneuvers, until tacking, gybing, and holding a line stop feeling like individual events. Days two and three shift into real-time coached trim work — the repetition that turns a concept you understand into a habit you don't have to think about — with conditions and difficulty increasing as the days go on. By day four, the coaching focuses on starts, tactics and racecraft, bringing everything together under race pressure.
Format
Four consecutive days on the Diam 24 or F18. Each day combines coached sessions with fleet racing, so new skills are tested the same day. The coaching focus progresses from boat handling to trim and speed to racecraft, adjusted to your team's goals. See upcoming session dates.
If You're Not Sure This Is Right
If you already race multihulls and want to go deep on trim and rig setup alone, the Advanced Sail Trim Masterclass is more focused. If you have a specific regatta coming up, a Training Clinic and Race Prep session before the event is built for that.
Ready to Start?
Four consecutive days of coached, progressively harder sailing does more for your skills than the same hours spread across a season of occasional outings.
